Not as well known or as culturally influential as his Androids Dream of Electric Sheep story, but it\'s his best work and his most entertaining.

Altered Carbon

by Richard K. Morgan

3.85 avg rating
Oh so fun. Morgan knows how to write gritty cyberpunk with no holds action and violence. This is dark detective noir with a hell of a kick. One of the most entertaining science fiction novels I\'ve yet encountered.

A modern classic about...everything. Stephenson combines quantum physics, mathematics, religion, space flight, alternative universes, and a coming of age story. Delicious. One of the best recent science fiction books of the decade

Wow! What a list. So many I will definitely have to check out next month. Thanks so much for sharing. I was a little surprised to not see 'The Seventh Holy Man' from William Brazzel. For me that was the best read of 2014 by a long shot. It fuses science fiction, supernatural, ancient history and religious/political themes in a seamless way and the book flows really well at a fast pace. Fans of Dan Brown and similar authors will really love this one. Absolutely top read. www.scifiauthorbrazzel.com

I was surprised that there were no books listed by James Blish. I have added one of his best, Earthman Come Home. It is one of the "Cities in Flight" series. The author of the book More Than Human is Theodore Sturgeon and NOT Lewis Blackell. Mr. Blackwell also has a book entitled, More Than Human. However it is a non-fiction book about animals.

Enlightening! and will read all I have missed in your top 25 Sci Fi. Not seeing Greg Egan listed is a tragedy but thanks for the great resource - regardless :) James W
