time travel novel that starts out with a car traveler in a desert location

    new guy here , and I am haunted by a novel one of my siblings had that was about time travel and opening sequence was in a car traveling on a desert road, however I lost track of the title, and several "time travel novel" searches on google convinces me that my google foo is lacking in this area

    any help would be appreciated

    Hi Doug! Car on a road and time travel? Reminds me of Roger Zelazny's Roadmarks. I think it does start with a couple in a car.

    That is obviously it, Boreas. I looked at it on Amazon and not only does it match the OP's description, but it sounds good.
