Hi Boreas. Missed your post: Marusek creates a complex and realistic world birthed from ours and then tells very personal stories within the interconnected plot. I found the world he constructed and the situations of each character as revolutionary as Neuromancer seemed at the time. It is alien, familiar and realistic. I forgot another author in my earlier list: Robert Reed. Marrow and other "great ship" books as well as Sister Alice are incredible stories.
